Fashion and Identity

What is sold in recent times under the name of fashion isn’t just style but identity, it doesn’t matter who we are but who we seem to be.
Fashion has become today one of the cultural sense society axis generators. Develops communicative approach based on the concept of brand and values whose scope handles incorporate the worldview and people’s lifestyle. Addresses and values diversity to offer people the sense universes coexisting in a pluralistic world, where everyone can head you most want, with whom you feel attuned. To achieve this, the apparel, accessories, footwear, cosmetics, utilitarian objects and habitat structure can and should work together, creating a great scenery, magnetic identity, with the power to absorb people into spaces senses effects created and ask you to participate in certain identity, which also is constantly transformation.
Fashion is a process of change to nowhere because what matters in fashion is change for change, no matter what change brings to people. Joins and reinforces two things: consumerism and individualism; unites and strengthens the creation of false needs with the feeling of being one myself. Through clothing, fashion appeals to the personal identity of each person making you feel inside and outside at once. Within the social group to which we belong and imagine outside groups that do not want us to involve. So they have created dressing forms to distinguish men from women, girls from boys, grandfathers from grandmothers as if they were social groups that should mark their supposed differences through dress.

Fashion-consumer-dissatisfaction
Fashion is the production of image appearance. The logic of capitalism is the massive creation of false needs. For both works requires that people feel unsatisfied. Play that game is to enter the game’s own taste consume, consume one’s personal identity. That means that our look, our letter of presentation to the other surface, can tyrannize us if we give too much importance. Because if you rely too much on the look for like it, I0ll stop liking, I feel dissatisfied with myself, when fashion industry promote a new trend, a new model of beauty, a new type of desirable body.

Dress is identity
Clothing is a form of casual communication. Before two people crossing a word, have already exchanged information. Through clothing can be established, more or less accurately, sex, age, ethnicity, economic status, social status, grade, occupation, membership, sexual availability, personality, opinions, tastes, interests and mood.

Clothes, a second skin
The idea of fashion with a constant renewal emerged in the seventeenth century with Louis XIV, King of France, determined to give impetus to local textile industries to finance the costs of his reign. The king himself terrible fashionista, your court imposed new models and colors every season to encourage the consumption. The court, submissive to paroxysm had chosen the concept of ‘ridiculous to that of ‘old fashioned’. In the eighteenth century, with the philosophers “enlightened” who began to promote the novel idea of freedom, more personalized relationships with individuality, modernity, culture and, consequently, his clothes were established. New fashions not only out of the aristocratic salons but also on the street. In the nineteenth century, the industrial revolution would give a boost to the democratization of fashion.

Fashion and identity
Teens agree that being a fashion is very expensive, because some items of original brands reach stratospheric numbers inaccessible to most young people; stating the fact as opposed to have low self-esteem to feel inferior to others because they cannot be fashionable.
In modern lifestyles, appearance and image are confused with being. The size of the image in society was discussed by authors such as Maffesoli, in 1996; he called the contemporaneity as imaginal world, or image, because of the strength of the imaginary, symbolic, apparent symptoms, instituting theatricality as lifestyle. The body emerges as prepared and busy place for the production of social identities from the earliest forms of society, when signs of a language developed.
Dressing involves gestures, behaviors, choices, fantasies, desires, manufacturing on the body and a body for mounting personal social collective or individual, and communication exercises, expressing ideas, qualities, positions, meanings. Dress and tell me who it is.
Fashion reflected in his own contemporary mechanism such movements, effects of opposing forces. Fashion is not only the result of the invention of the creative, the great stylists or centers that define trends that everyone will take, but also of the streets, where young or populations express ideals and concepts that will also inspire stylists, forming a true two-way street between the streets and walkways. Trends parading on catwalks are the result of intensive and extensive research in behavior and cannot be accepted.
The most important issue, and that somehow brings to others is the matter of fashion and identity. Fashion can serve as a superficial factor of social integration, especially for those who lack a distinct identity, but fashion, alone, cannot provide to identity strictly. Fashion freely expresses who we are.
